iPhone & iPod Touch being considered a “Handheld Gaming” Device?

October 26, 2009

As the gaming industry has been evolving, with new systems like the wii and ps3, or cool handhelds like dsi or psp. Everyone thought it’s just Nintendo,Sony,Microsoft competing for gaming power. Well, things are changing as Apple’s iPhone/iPod Touch is considered a gaming device now.

New games like Madden 10, Fifa 10,Need for Speed Undercover coming out for the iPhone/iPod Touch means something. Means that tons of people are now thinking, those 2 devices are gaming devices. Apple Rep said “We really had no intention of getting in this gaming industry, all was just a by accident.” As developers started releasing games that are on a full dedicated gaming console, to the iPhone/iPod Touch means the iPhone/iPod Touch is now a handheld gaming device.

Even Gamespot.com is considering those devices a gaming device. Gamespot added a “iPhone Games” page to the site. Click here to view the page.

This will catch on, trust me. More and more gaming sites will now add a iPhone page cause real games are being released on it. Now, GameAlerts will do it. We now will be doing iPhone Gaming news as of today. So, if you own a iPhone, then your in luck since we will now do iPhone News!

[Please note that the term "iPhone Games" refers to the iPod Touch as well since they both run the same game applications.]
